As part of the Cornwall Food and Drink Festival‘s fringe programme Lobbs Farm Shop hosted a Farm Tour and Butchery Demonstration on Friday 24th September. It was a great day, well attended, interesting and educational. Kicking off at 10am with a tour of Kestle Farm with Ian Lobb. He talked us through their farming methods, environmental care and welfare of the farm animals. Click here to read about this in more detail. A chill wind blew across the fields and the occasional patch of drizzle swept through, but on the whole, the sun shone for most of the tour!
After the farm tour, a delicious warming roast was served up in the Heligan Cafe next door. The afternoon continued with a Butchery Demonstration from our own butcher, Phil. He took us through step by step, the cutting up and preparing of half a cow. No mean feat! So thanks to all who attended and to Ian and Phil for such an informative and enjoyable day.
