Fasolakia me patataes

(Green beans with potatoes & tomato sauce)


1½lb green beans

2-3 large pieces of potato per portion

1 large onion

olive oil

½ tub passata

1 tin chopped tomatoes



Peel potatoes, chop & par boil for 5 mins. String beans, slice & blanch

Finely chop onion, fry in oil, add potatoes & onions. Add passata & tomatoes, season.  Simmer until potatoes cooked & beans tender.  May need extra water during cooking

Meatballs can be added to this dish

Good dish for vegetarians or an abundance of runner beans in the summer!
