(sausage shaped meatballs in tomato sauce)

 

1lb minced beef

1 onion

1 garlic clove

2 slices stale bread soaked in ½ cup water

1 egg

chopped parsley

salt & pepper

olive oil for frying

½ tub passata

1 can chopped tomatoes

cinnamon

 

Grate or finely chop onion & garlic, add to minced beef, add soaked bread, egg & seasoning. Mix well together

Shape into small sausages & fry in oil to seal.  Add passata, chopped tomatoes & pinch cinnamon.  Simmer for approx ½ hour – adjust consistency if necessary.

Serve as a meze or with rice, spaghetti or fried potatoes
